Wastewater Treatment
A two-stage lagoon treatment processBridgeport Utilities treats wastewater using a lagoon system spanning 8.4 acres with a capacity of one million gallons per day. The first lagoon is mechanically aerated and divided by a floating curtain. The second — known as the polishing pond — reduces remaining nutrients and organisms to safe levels before water is returned to the environment.
